The Perceptions of Weo Cho Cinnabar Plate (Sense of Hearing) with Japanese Ceramic Diptych - A group of items centered around a limited edition decorative plaque from The Perceptions of Weo Cho series. The central item is an oval decorative plaque titled The Sense of HEARING, featuring deeply carved relief work depicting a figure surrounded by flowering branches, executed in simulated cinnabar lacquer or resin. The reverse of the plaque is brass and is marked as plate number 8383 of an edition limited to, 500. The reverse further states the work is in the tradition of Chu Yuan-chang from the Ming Dynasty, copyrighted by CCS, Inc., USA, and includes the Chinese character '耳' (er). The plaque is presented in its original patterned cardboard box with a satin lining and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from The Museum of Oriental Antiquities, Taipei, Republic of China, confirming the plate's number and series. Completing the collection is vertically oriented framed ceramic tiles intended as a diptych. These tiles depict a traditional East Asian landscape featuring a pagoda, stream, and weeping willows. The tiles are hand-painted and signed with black calligraphy and red seals on the lower section. The wooden frame backings are stamped Traditional art handpainted on ceramics and signed by the artist. JAPAN. Burns in-house shipping is available.
