Allen & Thurber Engraved Six-Shot Pepperbox Pistol - The action is good on this piece, barrel rotates and hammer drops etc. An Allen & Thurber six-shot rotating barrel pepperbox pistol in .31 caliber. This mid-19th century American firearm is constructed of cast steel with wooden bag-style grips. The frame, bolster, and backstrap feature decorative foliate and scrollwork engravings. The barrel cluster is marked ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER and PATENTED 1837 CAST STEEL. The serial number 138 is stamped on the barrel. The top of the hammer is marked ALLEN'S PATENT. Barrel length: 3.25 inches. This item is either black powder or manufactured in or before 1898 (and does not take readily available ammunition), and thus does not require an FFL or background check. We can hand out to you at pickup or ship to the address of your choice. In-house shipping available.
