A Hand-Painted Russian Brooch, Signed, on Mother-of-Pearl or Abalone Shell - A circular brooch featuring a hand-painted miniature landscape scene on an iridescent material, likely mother-of-pearl or abalone shell. The artwork depicts a snow-covered winter landscape with trees, a body of water, and a domed building in the distance. The piece is signed ”P. Soln...” with an illegible date (possibly ”1910” or ”1940”) on the lower front. The painted insert is set within a twisted rope-style bezel. Approximately 1.75 inches in diameter. The reverse of the brooch shows significant tarnish, surface scratches, and green corrosion around the edges of the silver-toned metal. The simple pin mechanism appears functional. The hand-painted scene on the front appears to be in good condition with minor surface wear consistent with age. Burns in-house shipping is available.
