A Mid-Century Modern Gold-Tone Costume Brooch by Karen, with Blue Marquise Glass and Rhinestones - A mid-century modern gold-tone costume brooch, marked '© KAREN'. The brooch features a stylized, abstract, and organic design, possibly suggestive of a leaf or wing. It is crafted from a gold-toned base metal with a brushed or satin finish and a distinctive stippled or beaded edge. The central element is a prominent, faceted marquise-cut blue glass or paste stone, simulating a sapphire, encircled by a halo of smaller, round clear rhinestones. The reverse of the brooch reveals an open-work setting for the main stone and is fitted with a standard pin-back clasp with a safety catch.
