A Victorian Silver Plate Biscuit Box on Footed Stand, Circa 1860 - A Victorian electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) biscuit box or caddy, circa 1860, featuring a cylindrical body with extensive repousse or chased scrollwork and foliate decoration, complemented by rope-twist borders. The ornate hinged lid is topped with a figural finial, possibly a lion rampant. The container rests on an integral, decorative footed base with ornamentation that mirrors the body. The underside is marked ”EPNS”, ”D.G.A.”, and ”85382”. This item was purchased at Fortunoff. Approximately 6-6.5 inches in height to the top of the lid. Good overall condition, exhibiting visible surface wear, scratches, and tarnish consistent with its age and material. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Thursday, Dec. 4 from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
