A Collection of Vintage and Antique Pierced Mother-of-Pearl and Shell Buttons, Buckeye State Button Society Merit Award - A group of diverse buttons, primarily crafted from iridescent mother-of-pearl or shell, meticulously arranged within circular outlines on a pale green display card. The buttons exhibit a wide array of styles including intricate carving, piercing, dyeing, and inlay, with designs encompassing geometric patterns, floral motifs, animals (such as birds and insects), and some figurative or abstract elements. Accompanying the display is an entry card and a ”MERIT” ribbon from the ”Buckeye State Button Society,” identifying the collection as ”Pierced Shell” and indicating it received a merit award in a ”Novice” division, judged as ”Good!” The entry card is dated 1987. Buttons vary in size from approximately 1/2 inch to 1.5 inches in diameter. The display card measures approximately 8 1/4 inches (21 cm) wide. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Saturday, Nov. 22, from 11 am to 2 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
