Bidspirit auction | An Extensive Archive of Film-Related
An Extensive Archive of Film-Related Photographic Material, Mid-20th Century to Early 1980s - This extensive archive comprises numerous black and white gelatin silver prints, mostly 8x10 inches, and 35mm color photographic transparencies (slides). The black and white prints feature movie stills from various films, including ”Stormbound,” ”Stiletto,” and ”The Stepmother,” often displaying printed captions, copyright dates (e.g., 1972), and production details in English at the bottom. The color slides primarily depict scenes from ”Monty Python's The Meaning of Life (1983),” with each slide mount bearing printed text for ”PICTORIAL PRESS LIMITED” and their website ”www.pictorialpress.com.” The collection is systematically organized using manila file folders, each hand-labeled in English with film titles such as ”Story of Mankind ('57),” ”Stop Me Before I Kill,” ”Storm Over The Nile ('56),” and ”Stowaway in the Sky,” frequently including production years or associated names. All materials are contained within a cardboard Bankers Box, with slides housed in clear plastic archival sleeves. The visible markings and film titles suggest a period of production from the mid-20th century through the early 1980s. Burns in-house shipping is available.
