Vintage Pickelhaube Style Helmet Coin Bank, circa 1950s - A vintage Japanese-made coin bank, styled after a German Pickelhaube helmet. Constructed from a base metal, it features a two-tone finish with a darker, brushed silver/pewter tone for the main body and a contrasting gold/brass tone for the prominent spiked finial, a circumferential band, and a decorative front plate (Wappen). The Wappen displays a heraldic crest with faint ”TR” initials within a shield, and a banner beneath bearing the German motto ”TREU UND FEST” (Loyal and Steadfast). A coin slot is present on the top, and a screw-secured access plate is located on the underside, which also bears a ”MADE IN JAPAN” sticker. Height: 4.5 inches. Burns in-house shipping is available. Pick up is Wednesday, Oct. 29, from Noon to 7 pm at our gallery in Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
