18th c. Ornate Framed Devotional Reliquaries - Saint Theophilus Martyr and S.M.V. - This pair of antique devotional objects features intricate, ornate framing and detailed central elements. Each piece showcases a finely rendered bust within an oval, surrounded by elaborate gold-colored trim, beads, and decorative elements set against a textured background. One object is inscribed 'S. Theophili Mart.', identifying it as dedicated to Saint Theophilus the Martyr, with an inscription around the bust. The other object bears the inscription 'Deodeo S.M.V.', suggesting a devotion to the Holy Virgin Mary. These pieces are crafted from various materials including wood for the frames, glass, and what appears to be carved busts of wax, plaster, or similar material, adorned with metallic threads and various embellishments.
