Hudson River School Landscape Oil/Canvas 19th c - ”Landscape with Mountain Lake.” in the Hudson River Valley School style of the 19th c. Signed illegibly with a date that may be 1874. Initials ”S.F.” or ”G.F.” in bottom left corner. Sunset view of a mountain lake, with a small cottage on the near shore. Oil on canvas in period gilt frame. Purchased at Garth's Auctions in 2015. Framed size: 26” x 34”. Condition: Very dirty with old damage and some repairs. The painting is tight, has been relined and waxed. There are areas of in-painting including to the sky, and the center of the water. Crazing throughout. There are a few tears as well one in the water approx. 4'' in length as well as one in the sky, approx 3'' in length. In-house shipping available.
