Portrait of a Medici Lady Florence c 1554-76 - ”Portrait of a Lady, likely Princess Isabella de Medici-Orsini (1542-1576)”, in the manner of Florentine court painter Santi di Tito (1536-1603). Oil on canvas, in a gilt gesso carved wooden frame. Purchased from Dorotheum auctions, but this also passed through Sotheby's as you can see here: https://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2013/old-master-and-19th-century-paintings-n08953/lot.459.html Dorotheum research attributed this work to a Florentine Court Painter inspired by Northern European portrait styles such as that of Girolamo Macchietti, and identified the sitter as Princess Isabella de Medici-Orsini on grounds of its strong similarities to a fresco fragment which was once thought to depict Bianca Cappello.
