CIVIL WAR M1816 U.S CONVERTED MUSKET BY L POMEROY - Model 1816 United States .69 cal musket made by L. Pomeroy and dated 1822 Converted to percussion for use early in the Civil War. Action is tight and functions perfectly. Stamped in two lines behind the hammer 1822 / US An eagle is stamped above L. POMEROY stamped forward of the hammer. An eagle ”P” is partially obscured at the breech due to heavy pitting. Cartouche is visible on the stock flat opposite the lock. The numbers ”1” and ”11' are stamped in the wood behind the hammer. There is a 3&1/2 inch crack on the underside of the forestock. The metal was cleaned years ago and has developed a pleasing mottled grey color. The ramrod is an old replacement and matches in color the rest of the metal. In-house shipping is available.
