CIVIL WAR IDED CONFEDERATE - MILITIA AMBROTYPE - 1/6th plate ambrotype featuring a soldier wearing an eight button shell jacket with dark collar and cuffs. The backing paper bears the inscription: ”Miss Luu E. Mavis (Harris?) Union Mills Va. May 13th 1860. S. E. Payne Richmond Va” The photo mat is crude but original to this photograph. The backing paper used was part of a 19th century advertisement for a shop that sold cutlery, guns, locks, umbrellas, etc. Image is housed in a leatherette case that is seperated at the spine. In-house shipping is available. Pickup is Thursday, Oct. 19 and Friday Oct. 20 from 10 am to 1 pm in Carroll, Ohio 43112 or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
