CIVIL WAR UCV REUNION 3RD PAT. CONFEDERATE FLAG - Early U.C.V. (United Confederate Veterans) third pattern Confederate national flag. Multi piece silk construction with fringed border and applied embroidered stars. Appears to be hand stitched. This flag measures approx. 13.5” x 19”. This flag is housed in its original makeshift frame that at one time was a serving tray. The backing of the frame appears to be a floral pattern cloth wallpaper. As is visible in the photographs, the upper right hand corner is missing a piece of glass. It might be possible to remove the glass from the front so as to preserve the integrity of the original backing. Completely untouched from the time it was assembled most likely in the 19th century.
