Previously sold by Wildenstein & Co., New York, 1945, lot no. 50, Illustrated on page 107 of that catalog. Alex Lewyt, a New York-based vacuum cleaner inventor who died in 1988, and his wife, Elisabeth, an animal-welfare activist who died in 2012, began amassing their remarkable collection in the 1950s. The collection was sold at Sotheby's in 2013. Drawing size 12.25” x9 5/8”. Part two of a single-owner Lancaster, Ohio collection. We sold the first part of this collection last July. All sales final.
