WWII Nazi German Stamp - Philatelic lot - 4 Sets - 3 Different Issues inc. Hitler's 48th Birthday - World War Two 1937 Adolf Hitler Stamp issues lot. While each sheet contains a mint block of the same Adolf Hitler stamp, minor differences represent different issue purposes and dates. The sheet numbered 1 contains a block of perforated stamps with the slogan ”Wer Ein Volk Retten Will Kann Nur Heroisch Denken” (anyone who wants to save a people can only think heroically). This sheet was issued April 5, 1937 to commemorate Hitler's 48th Birthday. Sheet No.2 is identical to sheet no. 1 except that the stamps are imperforate. This sheet was issued on April 16, 1937 to commemorate the National Stamp Exhibition in Berlin, April 16-18 . This sheet was sold only with an entry ticket to the Exhibition. Sheets Nos. 3 & 4 are identical to sheet No. 1 except that the sides of the sheets bear the inscription “25 Rpf. einschließlich Kulturspende”, or “25 Rpf. including cultural donation.” These sheets were issued on June 10 1937 to promote cultural events. Additionally, sheet No. 4 bears a Braunschweig 6/15/1937 cancelation. All four sheets retain their original gum and were at one time hinged with hinge remnants still remaining.
