Rare Pre WWII Nazi German Identification Card REICH ASSOCIATION OF FORMER PRISONERS OF WAR - Rare Ausweis (Identification) card for the Reichsvereinigung ebem. Kriegsgefangener e. V. R.e. K. - Reichs Association of Former Prisoners of War e. V. R. e. K. This holder of this card was Hermann Leonhardt of Kiel, Germany in the Gau Hamburg. The interior of the card has spaces to affix stamps for monthly donations. This card bears 12 stamps. The back of the card encourages members to realize that they are a product of their homeland and should work in the ”eternal development” of that homeland. It further exhorts members to ”Read your national magazine ”THE RETURNEE”, pay contributions regularly, and always attend group meetings. The card measures 5.75” x 4.06” and is in excellent condition. It's safe to assume that the majority of the membership would have been comprised of World War One WWI veterans although it's certainly possible that some members could have served in earlier conflicts, ex.
