Rare and Fine Queen Anne Walnut High-Back Corner Chair, 18th century, ex. Sotheby's - A Very Fine Rare Queen Anne Walnut High-Back Corner Chair, England, circa second quarter of the 18th century. Queen Anne walnut corner chair with shaped high back, vase-form central splat, curved arm rail, shaped side splats, and turned arm supports. The square upholstered seat is raised on a cabriole front leg with opposing C-scrolls flanking the front knee raised over a trifid padded foot, joined by simple turned rear and side legs with shaped returns. Later colorful striped upholstery. Provenance: Sotheby's, New York, 19 October 2003 (achieved $ 6,000), there acquired for a private collection, Baltimore, MD (scan of original Sotheby's receipt included with the lot)
