American Grain-Painted Dovetailed Blanket Chest on Ebonized Turned Feet, mid-19th century - An American mid-nineteenth-century blanket chest retaining an early ochre-brown grain-painted surface. The case is constructed with open dovetailed corners and a lift top, opening to a pine-lined interior with a small till. The chest is raised over a molded base on ring-turned ebonized feet.
