A Collection of Mid-Century Paper Dolls in a Walter Menges Clothier to Men Original Merchant Box - A collection of vintage die-cut paper dolls and accessories from the mid-20th century. The set includes multiple female figures in varied poses and undergarments, printed in a late 1930s to early 1940s illustration style. The dolls are accompanied by several outfits, including hand-fashioned blue crepe paper skirts and printed cardstock accessories. One doll base is printed with the name Sue. Each doll features a base tab printed with the text PRINTED IN U.S.A. in black ink. The set is housed in its original two-part rectangular cardboard box. The lid features a textured, pebble-grain finish and a printed red ink merchant mark in the center. The four-line inscription reads WALTER MENGES / Clothier to Men / 206 NORTH ORANGE AVENUE / ORLANDO, FLORIDA. The box construction uses staples at the corners of the base and lid.
