Style RX-1 Class A Prescription Scale - A vintage American laboratory torsion balance, specifically a Class A prescription scale designed for pharmaceutical and apothecary use. The instrument is housed in a grey-painted metal case with a chrome-plated top section and glass viewing windows on the front and top. The weighing mechanism features two top-mounted circular metal pans. The interior mechanism includes a dual-graduated beam scale; the upper scale is graduated from 1 to 10 and the lower scale from 1 to 12. Two threaded cylindrical poise weights are visible through the front glass, and the unit is supported by adjustable leveling feet. A chrome control knob is located at the lower center of the front panel.
