1928 US Peace Silver Dollar - A 1928 US Peace silver dollar, struck in 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse features the left-facing profile of Liberty wearing a radiate crown, with the date 1928 at the base. Inscriptions include LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRVST. The reverse depicts a bald eagle perched on a rock with sun rays in the background, holding an olive branch. The rock is inscribed with the word PEACE. Reverse inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination ONE DOLLAR. There is no mint mark visible on the reverse above the eagle's tail feathers, indicating production at the Philadelphia Mint. The 1928 Philadelphia issue is the key date for the Peace dollar series, having the lowest mintage of any regular-issue circulation strike at 360,649 coins.
