US 1934-S Peace Silver Dollar - This US Peace silver dollar is struck in 90 percent silver and dated 1934. The obverse displays a radiate crown Liberty profile with the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRVST, and the date 1934. The reverse shows an eagle perched on a rock inscribed PEACE, with legends UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the denomination ONE DOLLAR. A small impressed S mint mark is visible on the reverse in the lower left field above the eagle tail feathers (photo 3), identifying the San Francisco Mint as the facility of origin. This date and mint mark combination represents a key date for the Peace dollar series.
