1984 United States Mint Olympic Prestige Set (Dollar Coin 90%Silver) - A six-coin United States Mint Prestige Set issued in 1984 to commemorate the XXIII Olympiad in Los Angeles. The set is presented in a burgundy genuine leather folder with a snap closure. The interior is lined with white satin-finished fabric, and the coins are secured within a purple velvet-like tray behind a clear protective plastic screen. The coins include a Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, Kennedy half dollar, and a special commemorative silver dollar. Each coin features a proof finish and bears an S mint mark, indicating production at the San Francisco Mint. The silver dollar obverse depicts the Gateway to the Olympic Coliseum and is struck in 90 percent silver. The obverse is lettered LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, LOS ANGELES XXIII OLYMPIAD, and 1984, with the S mint mark located to the left of the coliseum arch. The silver dollar reverse features an eagle and is lettered UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and ONE DOLLAR. The interior white satin lining is printed in silver-toned script with the words United States Mint and 1984 Prestige Set, accompanied by a stylized Olympic star and rings logo.
