”Bashofar yitaka ... Hashem yagen aleihem ”, Shofar of the Ribnitzer Rebbe, who blew it with self-sacrifice behind the Iron Curtain! Supremely holy - the shofar of miracle worker Harav Chaim Zanvil Abramowitz, the saintly Ribnitzer Rebbe, who blew it back in Moldova, behind the Iron Curtain, and accomplished much on behalf of Klal Yisrael that they merit good, sweet years. It is well known that there are deep secrets and great things that can be achieved during the auspicious time of tekias shofar . This is the shofar of the saintly Ribnitzer Rebbe, who was renowned for his saintly, wondrous conduct and who achieved great things for many Jews, even during years when self-sacrifice was required behind the Iron Curtain. People flocked to him for blessings and salvation. Harav Chaim Zanvil Abramowitz of Ribnitz [1898 (1902) - 1995] was born in Botosani, Romania. Orphaned in childhood, he was very close to Harav Avraham Matisyahu of Shtefanesht, who described him as his ”only son, ” and once told him, ”You are my chiddush .” He was pure and saintly from a young age, practicing sigufim (self-inflicted afflictions) such as immersing in icy water and fasting frequently. During the Communist era, he risked his life circumcising Jewish children and slaughtering poultry in accordance with Jewish law. In 1973, he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael and later moved to the U.S. He was renowned as a holy man and a miracle worker. People flocked to him to receive his advice, merit his blessing and receive salvation. He passed away in 1995 in Monsey, New York. Many people travel to his grave to pray for salvation. Comes with confirmation from the owner that he received the shofar from R' Nochum Kiel, who was the Rebbe's gabbai back in Ribnitz; the Rebbe was his mohel and officiated at his marriage in Ribnitz. R' Nochum Kiel immigrated to Eretz Yisrael after the fall of the Iron Curtain and lived in Holon, where he would sit in a shul that housed a Chassidic kollel. From time to time, he would tell the avreichim stories of the wonders the Rebbe had wrought that he had personally witnessed. Among his stories, he spoke about the special shofar he had received from the Rebbe and recounted miracle stories that came about through it, and about times when he was saved from danger in merit of the shofar. He prized the shofar greatly and toward the end of his life, he gave it as a gift to the avreich who helped him and with whom he had developed a very special relationship. Now, after approximately 10 years, he brought it to us for sale, as indicated in the confirmation written and signed by him. One of the stories he told was that he was once walking with the Rebbe when a non-Jew lifted his hand to hurl a stone at them. When R' Nochum wanted to chase after the perpetrator, the Rebbe stopped him and said, ” Ehr vet shoin mehr nisht varfen ” [=He won't throw anymore]. Indeed, the gentile suddenly died on that same day. R' Nochum also related that the Rebbe would go immerse in the icy river every day. He told about an amulet the Rebbe gave a woman who came to him weeping that her husband was deathly ill. He told her that her husband should wear the amulet and not remove it. To the astonishment of the doctors, her husband recovered and lived for many years, until the day he removed the necklace and the amulet disappeared. R' Nochum and his family survived the war with great miracles, and he felt the shofar protected them from all types of troubles and disease. There is a break in the upper part and several cracks in the other parts of the shofar.
