1970s Italian MERMAID Table Base, Signed - Vintage figural nude polychrome cast mermaid coffee table base with dolphin and shells. Signed under the tail ”F. Puddu, 1973.” Designed for glass table top to rest on mermaid's left wrist, right elbow and tail. Table measures about 47” long and 15-1/2” high. No information has been found as yet about the artist. There is a Sardinian family of wood carvers with the same name, but no direct relationship can be documented. This item will need to be shipped by a packing company of your choice. We maintain a list of reliable shippers, or you may choose your own. Condition Some paint wear and crazing. Some primed areas (pink paint), presumably the beginning of a repaint. No structural damage or losses found. Very sturdy -- should be able easily to support a glass top of the buyer's choice.
