Bidspirit auction | Vintage BABE RUTH Yankees Locker

Vintage BABE RUTH Yankees Locker Tag - Vintage Babe Ruth locker tag, circa 1930s-40s. Marked on one side ”Yankee Stadium Locker 3 The Bronx, New York” and on the other ”Babe Ruth 3”. Opinions vary as to the origin of these tags, a few of which have been sold through major auction houses, including Christies. One source indicates that the Yankees made them as hand-out promotional items, possibly given out to the first x-number of people who show up for a particular game. If this is the case, it was likely a fairly small number of people who received them -- as opposed to a souvenir shop staple -- as not many have hit the memorabilia market. Measures about 2” diam. This item can be shipped in-house. Multiple lot combined shipping may require 3rd Party shipping. Condition Good condition with expected wear. See images.
