WWII North China Type 19 Pistol 8mm - Extremely low production, rare WW2 Japanese North Chinese Type 19 pistol in 8mm Nambu caliber. 1st production type. Serial number is worn, assembly #30, matching on magazine & magazine release button. NOTE: According to Japanese Military CartridgeHandguns 1893-1945 (by authors Harry Derby & James Brown, copyright 2003), this is one of only 20 known examples of both production types of the North China Type 19. (Second production type, see lot 8.) The book also affirms that assembly number 30of this model is serial #27. The Type 19 pistol is an adaptation if the type 14 Nambu pistol produced during WWII by the Empire of Japan and China. Barrel measures approx. 4-1/2”. See images for more details on condition. Left side has been polished as a prelude to a restoration. The collector did not finish this project before his passing.
