Indian Wars: Camel Corps Brass Bell - Brass or bronze bell measuring approx. 3-3/4” in diameter at the base, with original or period iron clapper and integral loop. Accompanied by an approximately 30” long leather belt, likely intended for securing the bell to a pack animal's harness.While often associated in lore with the U.S. Army's mid-19th century Camel Corps experiment, this bell more plausibly dates to the Indian Wars period and would have been used on mules or horses in a military pack train.
