1940's General Electric Photovoltaic Cell - A very early General Electric Photovoltaic cell model 8PV1. It was first produced in 1937. This is the forerunner of the GE Photovoltaic Cells that were used on the Vanguard 1 Spacecraft in the 1950's. This one is still in the original box and is in very good condition. There is a crack in one corner but the unit is very stable. Please see pictures. The overall size in the box is 2 3/4” x1 1/2” x 1 3/8”.
