Framed The painting is a faithful replica made in Guercino's atelier of the work today at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Strasbourg. Guercino's prototype was painted for Carlo II Gonzaga Duke of Mantua in 1654 and was remembered by Malvasia as the most important painting made that year by the artist. Our canvas was judged by Prof. Daniele Benati to be a beautiful copy of Guercino's workshop in an email communication to the property dated 10/01/2020. ”
