A YUAN DYNASTY LONGQUAN CÉLADON-GLAZED JARLET 7 cm high Of globular form, the shoulders with two lug handles, short neck and bulbous mouth, the lower part of the body carved with a band of petals. Provenance: Acquired before 1975. A similar jarlet is the Museum Pusat of Jakarta (Abu Ridho, The World’s Great Collections. Oriental Ceramics. Vol. 3. Museum Pusat, Jakarta, Tokyo-New York-San Francisco 1982, n. 140); another similar one is illustrated in J. Guy, Oriental Trade Ceramics in Southeast Asia. 10th to 16th Century, Melbourne 1980, n. 77.
