The Scroll of Esther, written in Ashkenazi script, is housed in a magnificent silver case and a reading hand. Vienna, 1839s.
Ink on parchment; cast, stamped, embossed and engraved silver (stamped with the seal of the city of Vienna, with the year (blurred) and with the goldsmith’s stamp – the initials M A
The scroll is housed in a large and magnificent silver case, which well represents the qualities of Viennese goldsmithing. Cylindrical case, decorated with rich plant designs including flowers, acanthus leaves, rococos and a large rococo cartouche in the center (part). In the middle, surrounded by a crown. Height of the parchment: 35 cm. Light stains and tears; Height of the case: approximately 62 cm. Good condition
