Sieben's Brewery Co Chicago - Advertising Card - Lot of 2 - Lot of 2 - As stated on the card, Established 1865. The phone number format Lincoln 8313 aka LINcoln 8313 was used 1921 - 1948. The company operated at 1460 - 1478 Larrabee St 1876 - 1967, when it permanently closed. History, per Google, It operated as Sieben until 1895, when it became the Excelsior Brewing Co. It joined the United Breweries Co. trust in 1898 while still operated by the founder. The family regained control in 1911 and operated the company as M. Sieben's Brewery and Sieben's Brewery Co. until the start of Prohibition. And, yes, it operated during Prohibition - as a supplier for Al Capone and other gangs. It was famously raided in 1924, a set-up by the North Side Gang that triggeed the 1920s wars. In 1933, the company legally re-opened as Sieben's Brewery Co, as used on the card. Thus, the card likely is from the period 1933 - 1948, when phone numbers changed.
