Sparrow Chocolates Serving or Tip Tray - Sparrow Chocolates were sold 1892 - 1928. Because of the tray / product image hanging on the wall, it is in our opinion, from the late 1880s - early 1890s. Using product images within a picture was a short lived advertising fad / trick, encouraging consumers to put a sign on the wall of their home and routinely see the product. The manufacturer is not identified on the tray. History, per online resources: The H.F. Sparrow Co. operated from 1892 to 1907 and as Imperial Chocolates Co. 1907 - 1908, before joining the New England Confectionery Company aka NECCO, a trust formed in 1901. Online resources suggest production ended in 1928, however, we could not verify that. About 8 1/8 x 6 1/4 x 1/2 inches
