Bidspirit auction | Chinese Bronze Censer with Sculptural

Chinese Bronze Censer with Sculptural Fruit Lid - A Chenese ornamental bronze censer, with a rounded vessel raised on three sculptural legs and a removable-looking lid formed as a cluster of leaves and fruit. The body is decorated with raised foliage and fruit motifs, a dense band of archaic-style patterning, and animal-form side handles. The dark brown patina contrasts with lighter bronze-toned highlights on the raised details. No maker’s mark, signature. The form and decoration make this a distinctive example of Asian metalwork for display or use as an incense burner.
