Bidspirit auction | Chinese Carved Wood Fisherman &

Chinese Carved Wood Fisherman & Children Figurine with Stand - This finely carved wooden figurine depicts a bearded fisherman, possibly a sage, with two young children. The fisherman carries a basket filled with fish and a fishing pole. One child holds a fish, while the other sits beside him. The intricate carving details the flowing robes, facial expressions, and natural elements like the fish and the textured base. The piece rests on a separate, complementary carved wooden stand. There are partially legible inscriptions on the feet of the figurine and on the underside of the base, suggesting the maker or origin. The rich, dark wood displays a beautiful grain and patina, indicative of its age and material.
