A small painted signature or inscription appears at the lower right front but is not fully legible. The reverse bears partially legible handwritten notes including the title, apparent dimensions, a 2023 date, and an indistinct artist name or signature. JYPE Born 1979 Quebec CANADA DIMENSIONS: Height 48 inch / 122 cm Length 48 inch / 122 cm JYPE Born in 1979 under a lucky star, Jypé grew up in Quebec City and has always been in control of his destiny. Jypé looks at things a whole different way by using the knowledge and techniques learnt throughout his life. Passionate and self-taught, Jypé manages bringing us into a dark and heady universe. Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in law and a carpenter-training, Jypé turned his life around after his father’s death. He decided to embrace his dream and live off his passion; a new strength and guide helping him to find his way. His level-headed and self-confident gestures make his paintings more touching and vibrant with emotion. Jypé’s main goal is to create a universe and a world, in which everyone has a place. In the present, in the past, his art enables us to live memories again or simply enjoy the present. Light is essential to his work as he brings urban and dark horizons up to light. The profoundness brought by this light enables us to feel his world and also to travel inside of ourselves. Jypé uses a very personal approach which he shares with those who want to follow him. Jypé’s inspiration is drawn from life, love, passion and regrets.
