Frida Kahlo Pencil Drawing, Portrait with Inscription, 1930 - This framed pencil drawing signed Frida Kahlo, featuring a self-portrait or a portrait in her distinctive style, dated October 1930. The artwork includes an inscription in Spanish, believed to be in Kahlo's hand, which reads: ”Para mi Doctora linda, mi Carmelita. con el cariño de siempre. Frida Kahlo. en Puebla. Octubre 30.” This translates to: ”For my beautiful Doctor, my Carmelita. with eternal affection. Frida Kahlo. in Puebla. October 30.” The portrait depicts a woman with prominent eyebrows, wearing large earrings and a patterned garment, with a butterfly motif on her forehead and a sketched eye in the upper right corner. The drawing is presented in a dark wood frame with a mat. Frida Kahlo (1907–1954), a renowned Mexican painter known for her autobiographical portraits.
