Ansonia Art Nouveau Hand-Painted Porcelain Mantel Clock - An antique porcelain mantel clock by the renowned Ansonia Clock Co. of New York. The clock is housed in an ornate Rococo Revival style case, distinguished by its vibrant, airbrushed color palette of fuchsia, yellow, and teal green. The front is decorated with a hand-painted motif of large, colorful flowers, and the intricate scrollwork is accented with gilt details. The dial features black Arabic numerals, an open escapement, and is protected by a hinged, beveled glass crystal set in a decorative brass bezel. The face is clearly marked with the Ansonia ”A” in a diamond trademark and reads ”Manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Co. New York. United States of America” along the lower edge. This piece is a beautiful example of American clockmaking from the late 19th to early 20th century, blending mechanical craftsmanship with decorative artistry.
