Large Engraved Pewter Plate by C‭. ‬Schweigger‭ - ‬Nurenberg‭, ‬Circa 1820 - An oval pewter plate crafted by C[hristian] Schweigger in Nurenberg, Germany [c. 1820]. Diameter: 41 cm., and 32 cm. This large, oval pewter plate has a high decorative rim embellished with flowers. Engraved on the center of the plate in Hebrew: Herr Meir Orenstein. The stamp on the back of the plate reads: C. SCHWEIGGER, NURNBERG. Oval pewter plates with Jewish motifs are extremely rare.
