A prayer service for the ceremony at which two new Torah scrolls were presented to the Canterbury synagogue on 7 Tamuz, 5691 – June 21, 1931. Besides the Torah scrolls, the occasion also commemorated the unveiling of memorial plaques to mark the site of an ancient synagogue and cemetery from the 12 th and 13 th centuries. The praצyers are printed in English and Hebrew on facing pages. Listed are the rabbis and community leaders of the Jewish community of Oxford, past and present, with good wishes for the King, the Mayor, and the heads of the university.
