FRENCH LOUIS XVI STYLE GILT BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK - An antique French gilt bronze mantel clock. Dated mid to late 19th century. Elegant Louis XVI style. The clock is designed as a portico with columns, topped by an urn finial. The circular clock drum is flanked at each side by a lion's head mount, each hung with a suspended garland drop falling toward the base. The stepped base is architectural in character, centered by a shaped, diaper-patterned panel with a foliate rosette medallion, flanked by scrolled acanthus-leaf brackets curling outward on either side. The clock houses a traditional key-wind movement and features a porcelain dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, as well as figurative handles. Marked 'H&F Paris 2016' on the clock mechanism.
