ANTIQUE SEVRES STYLE PORCELAIN AND BRONZE CENTERPIECES - A pair of antique French porcelain and gilt bronze-mounted centerpiece bowls. Dated 19th century. Of oval form, raised on a sculpted leaf scroll foot which continue into side handles. Grapevine-styled rim. The turquoise ground body is finely hand-painted with floral medallions and putti panels. This piece follows the tradition of Sevres-style porcelain, popular in the late 19th century, often painted with romanticized 18th-century scenes and enriched with elaborate gilt decoration. Parisian decorators frequently produced such bowls for the luxury market, mounted in gilt bronze to appeal to collectors of Louis XVI revival taste.
