RUSSIAN PORCELAIN DEAD SOULS GOGOL SOBAKEVICH FIGURINE - A glazed porcelain figurine depicting a character from Nikolai Gogol's renowned Russian novel ”Dead Souls, ” likely the imposing landowner Sobakevich. The figure is modeled standing with his hands clasped behind his back, wearing a dark brown tailcoat, a white waistcoat with a subtle gilded pocket watch chain accent, tan trousers, and a black cravat. The hand-painted facial features display a characteristic stern, heavy-set expression. The figure rests on an integral white circular base with a standard firing hole visible on the underside. Three modern felt pads are applied to the base, obscuring any potential factory marks or stamps.
