EUROPEAN GREEN SERPENTINE BRONZE MOUNTED BOX - A vintage or antique European decorative casket box hand-carved from green serpentine hardstone. The rectangular box features a gently domed, hinged lid and highly polished interior and exterior surfaces that showcase the natural dark veining and mottling of the green stone. The heavy stone body is elevated on four cast gilt-metal feet decorated with classical foliate scroll motifs. The reverse is fitted with two prominent, ornately cast gilt-metal hinges that secure the lid.
