Baluster body hand-painted on a celadon-green ground with a perched bird among gilt scrolling branches and floral sprays. The vase is encased in a woven metal overlay in basket-weave pattern, solid woven bands cover the neck, rim, and foot, while the body is overlaid with vertical woven metal strips over the painted porcelain, visible between the strips.
