ANTIQUE FRENCH EMPIRE CUT CRYSTAL BOX CAMEO SIGNED ANDRIEU - An early 19th-century French Empire cut crystal casket box featuring heavy diamond and fluted cut facet detailing, a starburst base, and engine-turned gilt-metal mounts with a hinged lid and latch mechanism. Embedded within the center of the lid is an oval sulphide medallion (cristallo-céramie) depicting a classical profile portrait of a laureate figure, signed along the neck truncation ”ANDRIEU” for Bertrand Andrieu (French, 1761–1822). Hinged lid mechanism and latch remain functional. The embedded ceramic cameo portrait remains intact and clearly legible without cracks.
