ANTIQUE FRENCH GILT MOUNTED CRYSTAL SPHERICAL PERFUME SET - An antique French Palais Royal style cut crystal and gilt metal perfume casket. The piece features a large, hinged spherical cut crystal body decorated with deep starburst and varied geometric motifs, opening to reveal a fitted gilt metal caddy holding five cylindrical glass scent bottles with faceted spherical stoppers and a central pinecone finial. The sphere is supported by an ornate scrolled gilt pedestal resting on a domed cut crystal base, which is raised on four cast foliate feet. The lid is restrained by twin link chains and surmounted by a floral mount with a crystal finial.
