ANTIQUE ENGLISH SILVER PLATED ARMORIAL SAMOVAR - An antique English silver-plated tea urn or samovar executed in the Neoclassical George III style. The classical vase-form body is mounted with twin high-looping foliate handles and features beaded borders along the rim, domed lid, and base. The vessel rests on a square pedestal plinth raised on four ball feet. The lid is surmounted by an acorn-form finial, and the interior retains its removable cylindrical heating tube. The exterior is decorated with twin engraved armorials: one face displays a coat of arms framed by a foliate wreath and ribbon, while the other features a crest of a rampant lion holding a cross crosslet fitchée upon a torse. The faceted pouring spigot is fitted with a carved bone or faux-bone handle. The removable central heating tube and lid are present. Displays minor surface scratches and dings consistent with age and use.
